ISMM Conducts Seminar on “Navigating BOI Trade Operations: Import & Export Compliance, Documentation, and Costing”
Colombo, Sri Lanka – 23rd June 2026 — The Institute of Supply and Materials Management (ISMM), Sri Lanka’s National Professional Institute for Supply Chain Management Education, successfully conducted a full-day professional seminar titled “Navigating BOI Trade Operations: Import & Export Compliance, Documentation, and Costing.”
The seminar attracted a diverse audience of professionals representing the Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, International Trade, Manufacturing, and Logistics sectors, highlighting the growing demand for practical knowledge on Sri Lanka’s import and export regulatory framework. The intensive full-day session, conducted from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., provided participants with comprehensive insights into BOI trade operations, import and export compliance requirements, customs documentation, duty concessions, trade regulations, costing methodologies, and best practices for managing international trade operations efficiently and compliantly.
The session was expertly facilitated by Mr. H.A.G.D. Thilakarathna, Senior Deputy Director, Board of Investment (BOI) of Sri Lanka, whose extensive industry expertise and practical experience enabled participants to gain a deeper understanding of BOI procedures, regulatory requirements, documentation processes, and strategies for minimizing trade-related risks while improving operational efficiency.
The event was further honoured by the presence of Mr. Lilantha Subasinghe, President of ISMM, together with members of the Seminars, Workshops and Functions Committee and the dedicated ISMM staff, reaffirming the Institute's unwavering commitment to continuous professional development and industry-focused education.
The seminar provided an excellent platform for participants to engage in interactive discussions, clarify practical challenges through comprehensive question-and-answer sessions, and exchange experiences with fellow professionals. Participants left with enhanced knowledge of managing BOI trade operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, improving documentation accuracy, and optimizing import and export costing to support organizational competitiveness.
